Greetings!

Our Chester Village Christmas weekend was a huge success despite the North Pole climate we experienced on the Saturday. Families came out in droves and everyone was sporting an elf name. My favourite was Pee Wee Sugar Waffles. A huge shout out to the sponsors and volunteers that made this event happen.
The annual pet parade was a highlight.

The "Festival of Trees" had over 500 visitors !
Less than two weeks left till we can put the bunny slippers on and relax.
Until then, it's all go go Go !
Congratulations to Andrew Chandler, executive director of the Chester Playhouse. Andrew has navigated the Playhouse through an extremely challenging time and has done it all with determination and a huge smile.
Thank you Andrew !
Flowers are always a delight - at any time of year. Dial up Robin to order yours.

I happened upon this video for United Way Halifax. I think it sums up our current situation very well. Please find it in your heart to donate to those in need, not just at Christmas, but year round. The need never goes away.

You are getting this joke again, because everyone I asked - didn't get it...

When four of Santa's elves got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys
as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the pre-Christmas
pressure.

Then Mrs. Claus told Santa her Mother was coming to visit, which stressed
Santa even more. When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three
of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and
were out, Heaven knows where.

Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the
toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered. So, frustrated,
Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he
went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drunk all the cider and
hidden the liquor. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider
jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen
floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw
off the end of the broom.

Just then the doorbell rang, and irritated Santa marched to the door,
yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas
tree. The angel said very cheerfully, "Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn't this
a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to
stick it?"

And so began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

The Chester Merchants wish you and your family a happy and healthy holiday season. All the best to you and yours.

Last Monday's weather:

We are now firmly parked in the middle flu and cold season. Women just soldier on, while the men ... well, men, they get a MAN cold.

A chicken farmer went to the local bar... He sat next to an attractive woman and ordered champagne.

The woman said: "How strange, I also just ordered a glass of champagne." "What a coincidence," said the farmer, who added, "It is a special day for me.

I'm celebrating" "It is a special day for me too, I am also celebrating!" said the woman. "What a coincidence." said the farmer.
While they toasted, the farmer asked, "What are you celebrating?"

"My husband and I have been trying to have a child for years, and today, my gynecologist told me that I was pregnant."
"What a coincidence," said the man.

"I am a chicken farmer and for years all my hens were infertile, but now they are all set to lay fertilized eggs."
"This is awesome," said the woman. "What did you do for your chickens to become fertile?"
"I used a different rooster," he said.
The woman smiled and said, "What a coincidence."
