Fall In Love With Chester
Tanner's Brewing on Duke Street is open for business
Station 20 is celebrating "Fibre Artists" with a collection of handmade sweaters, hats, mittens, socks, hooked rugs, quilts, and a large selection of face masks. All proceeds from the sale of Pro Kids face masks are donated directly to Pro Kids.
Open Thursday - Sunday, 10 AM to 4 PM until November 29th at the Chester Train Station.
The Kiwi Café is participating in The Great Nova Scotia Comfort Food Festival for the month of November. For each meal sold they will donate to Feed Nova Scotia.
Bacon Mac’n 4 Cheese - $14 Served with a side salad with house balsamic vinaigrette, the cheeses are cheddar, smoked cheddar, brie and Ciro’s aged asiago.
$1.00 from each mac n cheese sold goes to Feed Nova Scotia.
Il Ferramenta is open 12-7, Thursday , 12- 8 Friday and Saturday and 12- 7 on Sunday. Dine in welcome, great wine selection to go with the pizzas.
The Chester Playhouse is well into their Restoration Campaign for the 82 year old theatre.
This restoration is taking place from the outside in and the inside out !
At this time they are encouraging the community to help support the project. Every contribution counts and a tax receipt will be issued for all donations over $ 20.
Arts Matter !
Gingerbread time is fast approaching. There are already 9 entries for the Gingerbread House contest.
Your (paper) entry details must be received by this Friday, October 30th.
This Saturday it’s Halloween Spooky Stations at the Chester Art Centre at 60 Queen Street. Trick or Treat in their backyard starting 4 pm. It’s free, Covid-19 sign in and sanitize when you arrive. For more info call 902-275-5789 or email
Later that day it is Halloween at Lordly Park, Chester from 5:30 to 8:00 pm. Haunted “houses” walk and Trunk or Treat. Entrance at the trail on the corner of Prince & Regent street, lining up towards Union street. Everyone welcome. Masks must be worn, and social distancing required. You can enjoy the fun with your group “social bubble” that you arrive with.

Remember the 70's? This Sunday the Chester Art Centre is hosting Macrame Wall Hanging with String Theories Fibre Design with instructor Mikaela Szumigraj from 1- 5 pm. Come join Mikaela as she provides knot-by-knot instructions to create your very own macrame wall hanging in your choice of colour! This workshop is designed for intermediate macrame makers but can be tweaked to accommodate any beginners. All materials included, and you will get to take home a textured hanging on a piece of Nova Scotia driftwood. 


Tuesday, November 10th and Thursday, November 12th there is a Watercolour Cartography class with Peggy McCalla at the Art Centre from 9:30 - 11:30 am. Cartography includes the colouration of maps. Try something different with watercolours. 


Tuesday November 16th -19th is “Finding Your Muse” with Jennie McGuire at the Art Centre from 9:30 - 12:30 pm. This is a creativity course designed to nudge the seasoned artist into new directions and the beginning artist to take the leap! Through the use of activity cards, interactive and independent projects, and visual journaling, she will explore ways to ‘get unstuck’, renew focus, remove fear, and move ahead creatively. 
Every Tuesday is “Trivia Tuesday” at the Fo’c’sle Pub. Get there early to get your sheet from Trivia Master Erin Gore.

The Rope Loft is closing for the season Sunday, October 25th. Get there soon to get your seaside fix.
Evenings on the patio may be behind us, but we're excited for cozy pub nights! Our pub & upstairs dining room are OPEN. Tables are spaced apart and booths have glass barriers. If the sun is shining, bring a sweater and grab lunch on the patio! Reservations are welcome!

The Chester Art Centre is shaking it up this autumn with so many
art classes to chose from, and even multi weekend sand sculpture work shops. The sand castle is coming along swimmingly and will continue to be a work in progress next Saturday with helpers welcome! The completion will be over Thanksgiving weekend.
Carol Hansen's show "Dive Right In" is on until October 8th.



Fall is just around the corner, and we all love the natural beauty that comes with the changing of the leaves. Station 20 Handcraft Shoppe opens for a "Fall into Christmas" 2020 season on October 9th and runs through November 29th. Open Thursday through Sundays 10 am - 4 pm. If you like colour or beautifully handcrafted items made in Nova Scotia, come see what our vendors have in store for you this fall.
Whether you are looking for Christmas gifts, warm knitted toques, or that perfect something to make you smile, our handcrafted crafts, rugs, artwork, along with vintage linens and antiques await you at Station 20. See you soon and enjoy the scenic drive along the way.

The Our Health Centre Foundation is holding this year's Harvest Jam Silent Auction 100% online. COVID demanded change and we are excited to venture into a new world of online fundraising. We have some amazing items for you to bid on. The auction runs until October 17th.




The Chester Farmers and Artisan "Modified Outside" Market from 9 am - 12 noon at the Chester Rink Ball Field at 190 Pig Loop Road. Next Friday, October 9th is the last market day. Load up !

The Hubbard's Barn Farmer's Market is open every Saturday morning till October 31 from 8 am to 12 noon.
