This Week in Chester  The Chester Farmers and Artisans Market is on this Friday at the Old Railway Station from 9 - 1pm  rain or shine. Local fresh produce, meat and fish, artisan baking, tasty meals, flowers and plants, handmade crafts, jewelry and treats. For you, for your family, for Fido. Two music venues happening Friday night... Live music Friday night at the Rope Loft is kicking off at 8 pm. Come early to assure yourself a seat. Order up a plate of local mussels to share with friends before your main course. Tonight the Cynthetics present "Jazz with Pizzazz." Don't miss this. You never know who else might pop by to jam with them. The Maes are performing Friday night at 8 pm in the red shed at 35 Union Street. From Australia, they are touring Canada again this summer and wanted to stop by and say "hey." $20 @ the door. Chester Merchants Press Release   Greetings!   We survived Race Week. It was a perfect weather week for all involved.  And there is more of that on the horizon... This Week in Chester  Friday evening, Darren Arsenault will take you back with relaxing originals at the Rope Loft. Enjoy the last few days of August soaking up the sun with a cold cocktail in hand.   Chester Bandstand Summer Concert presents "Clas Larsson Quartet" starting 7pm.  Children are welcome to dance on the grass. Adults may want to bring a lawn chair. Concerts may be moved or cancelled in heavy rain at the discretion of the performers. For more information, please contact Sue LeBlanc 902-299-0139. The Chester Arts Centre presents "Drawing a Line in the Paint" with Heather Sayeau next Monday and Tuesday from 9 am - 4 pm This workshop will explore the use of drawing as an integral part of the finished painted image.  Staining, dripping and layering are all contingent to this method of working. The class will look at ways to reinterpret subject matter in order to move back from realism and move into expressionism.  140 clams. Bring lunch. Chester Merchants Press Release   Greetings!   Today is day ONE of Chester Race Week, the largest keel boat regatta in Canada.     Get down to the waterfront and see what all the buzz is about. The Chester Yacht Club is open to all comers this week, so why not drop by and join in the fun.   There is entertainment every afternoon and evening after the races.   This Week in Chester  Tonight, Wednesday, the Chester Playhouse Summer Theatre School presents The Adventures of Pinocchio. Carved out of wood by the lonely toy-maker Geppetto, Pinocchio tumbles from one disastrous situation to another in search of adventure-only to discover that, in the end, all he really needs is an unselfish heart and the love of his father. The show runs from today until Saturday with show times at 7pm each night and a matinee on Saturday at 2pm. This is a 70 minute show with no intermission.
