Last Monday's weather:

We are now firmly parked in the middle flu and cold season. Women just soldier on, while the men ... well, men, they get a MAN cold.

A chicken farmer went to the local bar... He sat next to an attractive woman and ordered champagne.

The woman said: "How strange, I also just ordered a glass of champagne." "What a coincidence," said the farmer, who added, "It is a special day for me.

I'm celebrating" "It is a special day for me too, I am also celebrating!" said the woman. "What a coincidence." said the farmer.
While they toasted, the farmer asked, "What are you celebrating?"

"My husband and I have been trying to have a child for years, and today, my gynecologist told me that I was pregnant."
"What a coincidence," said the man.

"I am a chicken farmer and for years all my hens were infertile, but now they are all set to lay fertilized eggs."
"This is awesome," said the woman. "What did you do for your chickens to become fertile?"
"I used a different rooster," he said.
The woman smiled and said, "What a coincidence."

Greetings!

Well. It’s been a while.

Although it still feels like summer, it’s already November (!)

A friend once said to me “Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer you get to the end, the faster it goes.”
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
        In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
        In Flanders fields.
The Chester Art Centre is alive with activity. Check out their current show "Place in Perspective" and back by popular demand is the "Festive Mini Auction." Get your digital bidding paddles ready !

The Chester Merchants are hosting their 5th annual Chester Village Christmas November 25, 26 and 27.

Our Gingerbread competition has been running for 14 years !
We are still accepting entry forms for your ginger gems. Please email Robin for details.
The Phoenix is rising from the ashes. The Playhouse continues their "Playhouse without Walls" series throughout the village.
Reeny Smith's Family Christmas is back and home town favourite By Folk-El will be onstage with their Spectacular Holiday Social.
The Captain’s House Gallery at 33 Central Street is hosting the "Celebration of Trees" fundraiser to benefit the Chester Lighthouse Food Bank on November 25th - 27th from 10am-4pm daily.
Friday, 5pm - 7pm the gallery is open with viewing and bidding. Vote for People's Choice best tree.

On Saturday from 10am - 4pm the gallery is hosting a group show of
hooked rugs, rust sculpture, painted floor cloths, art dolls, photography, oil and acrylic paintings.

Sunday from 2pm - 4pm is the Sparkle Event with Tanner & Co product tasting and Christmas treats. At 4pm Santa will announce the People's Choice Award for Best Tree and Winning Bidders of the Christmas Trees.

If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.
