Chester Merchants Press Release
Greetings!
Quite the blow on Monday - almost blew the white bread lid off my turkey sandwich.
Look at the bright side...we don't live in Cape Breton.
They're now all sporting water wings.
As they say, "Be careful what you wish for."
I hope you filled your water barrels and washed the family Buick.

Have you ever wondered what buildings and businesses were once located in the village?
Back
in the day, Chester teemed with commerce. There were 200 hotel rooms to
accommodate the summer trade, the boozer was down by the ferry dock,
and there was a jewelry shop across the street from the Robinson House.
The Rope Loft was a gas dock and there were 2 hardware stores and 2
grocery stores downtown. Yes. Really.
Walk
back in time with the Chester Municipal Heritage Society for a tour
next Monday, October 17th beginning at the Chester Legion at 1:30 pm.
Cost $5.00 per person.
You must pre-register and a minimum of 6 people is required.
Call 902-275-3826 or 902-275-2030 or online at canauss@gmail.com.
Rain date is Thursday the 20th - same time, same place.
Don't miss this. You will look at the village in a whole new light.
On a different note - how are your gingerbread creations coming along ?? The entry form deadline is November 4th.
