July 17th, 2013 Press Release!

Chester Merchants Press Release
  fishing cousins

Recently I came across a couple of young cousins, fishing up a storm for squid on a glorious evening. The excitement, freedom and camaraderie reminded me of the simple pleasures one can have - right in your own backyard or off the government wharf. Summer is when that freedom is extended and your antics become the stories you recount in winter and for years to come.......shortening the 'distance' between family and friends.

Also on Sunday, make sure to get front row seats at the 8pm screening of 'Seducing Dr. Lewis' at the Playhouse in aid of Our Health Centre. Brought back by popular demand, it's a great film with lots of laughs as residents of a tiny fishing village scheme to secure a resident doctor. Sound familiar?! Dan Cox will host the evening as half his family is in the film, having been shot in his home town in Quebec.

She won't do it herself, so I'm going to plug The Mecklenburgh Inn - home away from home, right in the heart of the Village. Wonderfully casual and cosy - if you've got troublesome guests that tend to overstay their welcome, let Suzi sort them out! Her breakfasts are so good that next time they consider a visit, you might find them booking in there first....!
