Greetings!

W e l l .  That was SOME show Monday night.
First the fireworks, then the fire. Incredible.
A fabulous display of pyrotechnics followed by the launch raft going up in flames.
You can't make this s**t up.
Canada Day's afternoon activities was a jam packed family event at the Train Station. O.M.G. I have never seen so many kids in one location - I did a drive by.

From all reports it was a raging success.
Kudos to the organizers and volunteers.

This Week in Chester

We are off and running with all things "Summer."

Picnic in the Park was shelved last night due to inclement weather. Tonight the Parsons Brothers are on stage at the gazebo in Lordly Park from 6-8 pm. This evening's performance is sponsored by Tradewinds Realty. Meals for the musicians provided by The Stretch Diner.

Tonight, Wednesday, the Chester Drama Society presents "The Secret Diary of  M,"
by madcap playwright Malcolm Callaway. The show runs until Saturday, July 6th at the Chester Playhouse.
The entire village of Chester wants access to a diary that is buried in the bank vault. It contains salacious and incriminating evidence of old wrongdoings. The local Shoreham Theatrical Dramatic Society (the STDs) puts on a benefit in the tavern to cover up any activity going on below. After tunneling in to the bank, chaos ensues as the great heist unravels.

The Village Emporium is having a summer sale. We loves sales ! Their hours are Monday - Saturday from 10 - 5, Sun 11 - 4pm. Facebook @TheVillageEmporiumChester

Amicus Gallery is opening their first show of the season with artist Shelley Mitchell.
I think there will be wine... and maybe a canapé or two. There are other artists and mediums on display as well. Be prompt or you'll miss this summer opener.

The Rope Loft has opened their upper deck for the summer. What a perfect spot to watch all the happenings in the harbour with a caesar in hand ! Kevin Koloff takes the stage in the lower dining room Friday night at 8pm. Songs you know by heart from the 60's and 70's. Order up their prime rib special with all the trimmings. It's fantastic ! Check out their new website.

Everyone is invited to attend a Syrian pot luck at St Stephen's hall Sunday, July 7th to welcome  to the Alouch family. Rayad, wife Amina and their four children have arrived !
There will also be live music.
If you aren't able to attend the event,  feel free to drop off a dish. All food except pork gratefully accepted. Contact starfishenterprise2016@gmail.com for more information.
